What is a seclusion gown used for?
Answer: A seclusion gown is a type of ligature-resistant clothing created to prevent it from being used as a ligature in self-harm incidents. Our gowns are used in secure environments such as mental health and rehabilitation facilities and our seclusion gown range was developed to work in conjunction with the close supervision of service users.
Our seclusion gown is made from Secure-Tex; a dual-layer, heavyweight, flame-retardant polyester fabric. It is quilted with strong DNA stitching and has reinforced seams with high-strength thread, increasing tensile and tear strength. The material is designed to deter the making of ligatures while providing comfort and minimising the risk of harm.
