Instead of mechanical keys, it is operated by access cards, wristbands or key fobs. The wristband can be issued to service users, to independently gain access to their bedrooms, making it feel more like a home environment. Patients have complete control of their bedroom access reducing the demand on staff to lock or unlock doors.
